Low down, dirty rock and funk inside…

[chains+and+black+exhaust.jpg]

I just came across this nice little collection of tunes dating back to the late 60s/early 7os of stripped down, psychedelic rock by a cast of mostly unknown black artists. The collection goes by the name of Chains And Black Exhaust, and features some downright bad ass guitar & funk weirdness in equal measures – it’s probably the best funk rock compilation in the world. So if you like your Funkadelic a la Free Your Mind… and Your Ass Will Follow, and your Jimi Hendrix and Eddie Hazel hallucinogenic infused guitar licks then this is definitely for you.

Check out Showstopper by Iron Knowledge below for a taste of what to expect from this collection…

After a bit of digging around I finally came up with the track list for the album – cherish this document.

1. Prologue
2. Yeah Yeah (Blackrock)
3. Cynthy-Ruth (Black Merda)
4. Mama, Here Comes The Preacher (Doug Anderson)
5. Showstopper (Iron Knowledge)

7. Blind Man (LA Carnival)
8. Life Is A Gamble (Preacher)
